Author's Biography:

Reverend Gwen Azama-Edwards is a retired city clerk/assistant to the city manager for Daytona Beach, FL. She is a former City Commissioner for Zone 4, for Daytona Beach as well. Prior to her local government employment, she worked for the Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security as a Manager for Employment Services, supervising Employment Offices in Volusia and Flagler Counties, and later as Regional Manager, managing Job Service Offices in nine counties in Central Florida while coordinating services with the Private Industry Councils in those counties as well. She is a lifetime Floridian and a graduate of Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. She received both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees from there in 1971 and 1983, respectively, in Psychology and Guidance and Counseling.

Gwen is the former president of the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) 2000-2001, League of Women Voters of Volusia County, Council On Aging, and former Board Chair of the United Way of Volusia and Flagler Counties, Crime Stoppers of NE Florida, and a Life Member of the NAACP and former Board Member with the Center for Business Excellence for Volusia and Flagler Counties, and a member and Chair of many others. She is also the former President and CEO of A-E Enterprises, Inc., a Consulting firm on Politics and Ethics, and was a Talk Show Host for the “Truth Radio Show” for eight years on the WELE FM Radio Station in Holly Hill, Florida.

She is a published author and an Ordained Minister serving at Living Faith World Ministries with her husband, effective April 2023, where Tony Barhoo is Senior Pastor. She is married to the Reverend Larry T. Edwards and has two grown sons. When not being about her “Father's business with the church,” she devotes her time and energies to family, writing, volunteer services, podcasting via Spotify - “Gwen with Truth” - and in all things giving God service. She is a lifetime advocate for women, children, and families!
