Dallas, United States - March 19, 2026 / Lovers Lane United Methodist Church /
DALLAS, TX — Lovers Lane United Methodist Church invites the Dallas community to celebrate Holy Week and Easter with a comprehensive series of worship services and special events, featuring traditional and modern worship options, special musical presentations, and a sunrise service.
Palm Sunday services will be held on March 29 at 8:15 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:00 AM, celebrating Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem with children processing with palm branches. Following the 11:00 AM service, all are invited to a Palm Sunday Party at 12:00 PM on the Inwood Green, featuring fellowship, an Easter egg hunt, and refreshments. The day concludes with a Palm Sunday Organ Recital at 5:00 PM in the sanctuary, featuring organist Clinton Bray.
Maundy Thursday on April 2 will feature a special presentation of The Mystery at 7:00 PM in Asbury Hall. This immersive storytelling experience brings the Last Supper to life through powerful narrative and thoughtfully chosen secular music, inviting attendees to see themselves in the room and encounter the depth of Jesus' love.
"In the Gospel of John, people encounter Jesus and respond in very different ways. Some recognize him immediately. Others miss him entirely. Many come to see clearly only over time," said Pastor Eddie Rester, Lead Pastor. "In John's gospel, faith isn't blind—it's learned as our eyes adjust to the light."
Good Friday services will be held on April 3 at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary, featuring Arnesen's Requiem of Solace with mezzo-soprano Emily Patton. This moving work of lament and peace draws worshipers into deep reverence. On Saturday, April 4, the African Fellowship will host an Easter Vigil at 7:00 PM in Shipp Chapel, filled with vibrant worship and Spirit-led celebration as the congregation proclaims that Christ is risen.
Easter Sunday on April 5 begins with a Sunrise Service at 7:00 AM in the amphitheater at the Copeland House. Multiple worship services follow throughout the morning, including Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, Thrive Modern Worship in Shipp Chapel at 9:30 AM, Deaf Fellowship online at 9:30 AM, Crosswalk Modern Worship in Asbury Hall at 11:00 AM, and African Fellowship in Shipp Chapel at 11:00 AM. All services will also be available for online viewing.
