Raleigh, North Carolina - Primary Beginnings announced the promotions of May Cooke and Jennifer Creech to leadership roles at its Falls of Neuse child care center in Raleigh. Cooke previously served as Assistant Director at Falls of Neuse and has been named Center Director. Creech has moved from her role as an infant teacher at the organization's North Hills location to Assistant Director at Falls of Neuse.

The promotions bring two longtime Primary Beginnings team members into leadership at a center serving Raleigh families through child care, preschool education, and early learning programs. Both educators bring classroom experience, administrative training, and a close understanding of the children, families, and teachers who make up the Primary Beginnings community.

Primary Beginnings' Falls of Neuse location is part of the organization's three 5-star preschool programs and child care centers in Raleigh. In North Carolina, star-rated licenses are based on program standards and staff education, giving families a way to better understand the level of care, learning support, and classroom environment a center provides. For Primary Beginnings, that rating also reflects the role strong center leadership plays in day-to-day child development.

May Cooke has been part of Primary Beginnings since February 2019. Before moving into leadership at the Falls of Neuse location, she worked as a Pre-K teacher at the Spring Forest Center. She brought additional experience from three years as an Assistant Director.

Her career in education began at age 16, and each role that followed kept her connected to early childhood learning. Cooke later pursued studies in business and education, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and management, as well as a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her background includes experience with children from six weeks old through school age, giving her a broad view of classroom needs across the age groups served within Primary Beginnings' programs.

As Center Director, Cooke will continue supporting teachers, students, and local families by helping classrooms remain organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Her role helps guide the daily structure behind infant care, toddler care, preschool, and other early learning experiences offered through Primary Beginnings.

Jennifer Creech has worked with Primary Beginnings since December 2017, serving as a classroom teacher at the North Hills location in Raleigh. Her move into the Assistant Director role at Falls of Neuse reflects her experience with young children and her understanding of the routines, transitions, and relationships that shape a child's day.

Creech earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University and received her Early Childhood Administration Certificate from Southwestern Community College. In her new role as Assistant Director, she will help support the center's culture, focusing on creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for families, children, and staff.

Steady leadership makes a difference in early childhood education.
