MIAMI, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Qtonic Quantum Corp today launched QShield, its SAFE/29 packet runtime, and opened paid, scoped, operator-led engagements to enterprise and government organizations, available now. QShield puts post-quantum encryption on a sensitive network connection using software alone, so an organization can protect what matters most today instead of waiting for a migration that will take years.

QShield protects traffic routed between compatible Linux endpoints using post-quantum key establishment and authentication, alongside AES-256-GCM packet encryption. It is delivered and operated by Qtonic Quantum Corp. Engagements begin on company-operated hosts and are scoped to the customer's environment, without dedicated encryption appliances at the participating endpoints.

The clock is public

Intellectual property, research, financial records and government communications often need to remain confidential long after transmission. Adversaries can record encrypted traffic today and hold it for decryption by a sufficiently capable quantum computer. Every month of delay adds to what is exposed.

The deadlines are set. CNSA 2.0 requirements apply to new national security system acquisitions from January 1, 2027, 106 days from today, unless otherwise noted. Executive Order 14412 directs covered federal high-value assets and high-impact systems to move key establishment to post-quantum cryptography by December 31, 2030.

QShield addresses that exposure for traffic routed through its protected path. A full post-quantum migration takes years. QShield lets an organization protect its most sensitive connections now, on the infrastructure it already runs, while that migration proceeds.

QShield runs a pure post-quantum asymmetric configuration. It combines ML-KEM-1024 (NIST FIPS 203) for key establishment, ML-DSA-87 (NIST FIPS 204) for endpoint authentication and AES-256-GCM for packet encryption. ML-KEM-1024 and ML-DSA-87 are the highest parameter sets in NIST's post-quantum standards and the parameters CNSA 2.0 specifies for national security systems.

Private keys remain on participating endpoints without dependence on a company-operated key-management service. The tested control channel negotiated ML-KEM-1024 for key establishment rather than a pre-shared-key mode. QShield's fail-closed design is intended to block protected traffic when required security conditions cannot be maintained.

The connections that cannot wait include data-center interconnects carrying financial records, research transfers between institutions, links between clinical systems, and server-to-server paths carrying regulated or mission information. Each engagement establishes the supported environment, routing requirements and acceptance criteria for the customer's use case.

The proof, published

The September 13 to 16 endurance run connected two Linux hosts in separate AWS availability zones in Oregon. Approximately every 63 seconds, the test checked connectivity, service status and a 64 KiB transfer with its SHA-256 recorded. All 4,107 checks reported success. At harvest, both daemon paths hashed to the identified build, and zero restarts were recorded. The 72-hour gate closed at 04:29 UTC on September 16. The operator left the overlay running.

The published evidence package includes the run log, build identification, checksums, a verifier and its output. The verifier passes 11 of 11 checks.
