Hiker Trailers Inks Deal With Super Pacific, Adding X1 Manufacturing to Its Indiana Campus
Columbus, United States - September 13, 2026 / Hiker Trailers /
A new Columbus, Indiana hub brings Super Pacific's X1 truck camper closer to customers across the Midwest and eastern U.S., as Hiker Trailers and Super Pacific partner to expand camper manufacturing into the Midwest.
COLUMBUS, Ind., Aug. 21, 2026: Hiker Trailers, the Columbus, Indiana-based manufacturer of custom and ready-built teardrop trailers, has announced a new partnership with Super Pacific, the Portland, Oregon-based maker of the X1 truck camper. Under the agreement, manufacturing and installation of the X1 will be added to Hiker's Columbus facility, establishing a Midwest production hub and representing a significant growth step for both companies.
The partnership follows several months of planning between the two teams and is structured to reduce the distance between Super Pacific's product and customers throughout the Midwest and eastern United States, while giving Hiker customers a broader range of camping-platform options.
"It's about creating more ways for more people to get outside," Hiker Trailers said in announcing the partnership. "With Super Pacific, we have another answer. We're not changing direction. We're expanding the number of directions we can help our customers go."
Scaling Production to Meet Growing Demand
Hiker Trailers currently manufactures more than 450 custom camping trailers annually for customers across the United States, split between Custom Builds and Ready-Built models produced by its Columbus team. That core trailer business remains unchanged. The addition of X1 manufacturing and installation expands Hiker's production footprint and positions Columbus as a second manufacturing hub for Super Pacific alongside its existing West Coast operations.
X1 campers are expected to begin production and installation in Columbus this fall, though an exact launch date has not been announced. Super Pacific will continue to lead the X1's design and development, while Hiker's Columbus team extends the camper's manufacturing, installation, and customer-support reach farther east. The product itself remains the same: "Same camper. Same warranty. Same customer support. Now built closer to home," the companies said.
The Super Pacific X1 converts a pickup truck into a lightweight, capable camping platform that travels wherever the truck goes. When paired with a Hiker trailer, an X1-equipped truck can provide additional sleeping and living space without requiring a transition to a large RV - a combination suited to larger families and groups seeking more flexibility in how they travel.
Easier Access, With More Regional Expansion Ahead
Once production begins, customers east of the Rocky Mountains will be able to order a new Super Pacific X1 through Deer Creek - part of the Hiker Trailers family and the brand handling sales, dealer support, and ordering for Super Pacific in the region - and pick it up at Super Pacific East at Hiker Trailers with no camper shipping costs. Super Pacific plans to continue expanding installation options and shipping availability throughout the Midwest, New England, the Southeast, and Texas, a multi-region rollout that reflects the scale of ambition behind the collaboration between Hiker Trailers and Super Pacific to expand camper manufacturing into the Midwest and beyond.
Additional details on availability, ordering, installation, and preorders are expected in the coming weeks.
"For Hiker, this partnership doesn't change our belief in the camping experience our trailers provide. It builds on it," the company said. "It gives our customers more choices, gives Super Pacific customers a new home in the Midwest, and gives both of our teams an opportunity to help more people find a camping setup that fits their family, their vehicle, and the way they want to explore. There's no single right way to camp."
